Custom Consoles, Europe's leading manufacturer of specialised furniture for studio, office and security applications, has announced a major upgrade to its System Two motorised workstation. Developed for use as an editing or graphics workstation with advanced ergonomic features, System Two features independent electrically motorised height adjustment of the main desk surface and rear monitor shelf.
Designed to meet BS EN ISO 9241, System Two is ideal for 24/7 environments in which workstations are shared by different staff as it allows individual users to change height settings quickly and easily to match their preference. The design also enables operators to vary their working posture during the course of a working day, reducing the risk of fatigue or RSI. Desk dimensions are 2000 width x 750 mm front-to-back. The monitor shelf is also 2000 wide and 500 mm front-to-back.
"System Two has proved popular among broadcasters and postproduction houses," comments Custom Consoles sales manager Gary Fuller. "The new version incorporates an electronic anti-collision sensor which halts and reverses the desk or monitor-shelf on contact with an obstacle. The maximum height of the monitor shelf has been increased from 1106 to 1200 mm. Minimum height remains 660 mm. A wide range of supporting accessories is available, including a 13 U equipment storage pedestal with stabiliser, an under-shelf pod for central or side-by-side mounting, a VTR bay, a 27U standard bay and a 27U quiet-bay. Designed to minimise the noise of PC disk drives and fans, the quiet bay has a 610 x 885 mm footprint, glazed front door and rear fan unit with temperature readout."
"It is reassuring to see a responsible manufacturing company working towards compliance," adds FIRA ergonomist Levent Caglar. "Understanding and implementing health and safety regulations in this difficult area results in better working environments for users who subsequently work more efficiently and safely."
Produced in high-grade MDF, System Two comes in maple finish with arabesque Marmoleum worksurfaces. Other finishes are available on request. Delivery is within seven to 10 days of order.
Now in its 10th year, Custom Consoles (www.customconsoles.co.uk) manufactures a broad range of studio and technical-support furniture including motorised, manually adjustable and fixed-height units plus fan-cooled sound-insulated equipment housings. The company is active worldwide.
