Custom Consoles has completed its largest-to-date single order for office-based furniture. The order includes 33 M-Desks, supplied to one of Europe's largest broadcasters as the basis of a parliamentary news facility. The desks will accommodate computer workstations employed to edit the large amount of video and audio content that results from live continuous television and radio coverage of legislative proceedings. The M-Desks supplied are all 1,600 mm-wide single-level versions. Each desk can be adjusted in height to suite the needs of different users and to allow changes in working posture throughout the day. This adjustment is made using a telescopic handle which can be recessed back into the desk when not in use. An Ergotron LCD monitor arm is mounted on every desk and is itself adjustable in height and angle to suit individual staff preferences. M-Desk is available in 1200, 1300, 1600 and 1800 mm widths (models MD-1200, MD-1300, MD-1600 and MD-1800 respectively). All four versions have an 800 mm depth and are supplied complete with cable management. Each desk can be supplied with rigid feet or lockable castors. A dual-level version is also available, enabling picture monitors and loudspeakers to be housed on an independently height-adjustable shelf above the main desk surface.
